YOUNGSTOWN James E. Lowry, 60, of Youngstown, died Monday, February 5, 2007, at Cleveland Clinic. He was born on July 11, 1946, in Capitol Heights, Maryland, a son of Allen and Alma Ruth McKnight Lowry and lived most of his life in this area.
Mr. Lowry was a District General Manager for Grunau Corporation for 12 years. He was a 1964 graduate of Hubbard High School, an Army veteran of the Viet Nam War and was involved in many Viet Nam military organizations. Jim was of the Baptist faith and was an avid golfer and NASCAR fan.
His wife, the former Barbara Baker Lowry, whom he married on March 5, 1988, died on November 5, 2000.
He leaves two sons, James (Regina) Baker of Hubbard and Michael (Kelli) Baker of Medina; two daughters, Melissa (John) Knebel of Brookfield and Cindy (John) McGuigan of Austintown; three brothers, David A. Lowry of Canfield, John C. Lowry and Stephen A. Lowry, both of Hubbard; a sister, Elaine Boring of Cedartown, GA and nine grandchildren.
Besides his wife, his parents preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home in Hubbard.
Family and friends may call from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
