YOUNGSTOWN Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home, Hubbard, for James B. Lanning, 53 of 2476 McQuiston St. who died of a heart attack Friday at St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center. He was born March 28, 1947, in Barberton, OH, a son of Bruce and Rosemary Shingleton Lanning and moved to Youngstown a year and a half ago coming from Akron. He had formerly lived in Jamestown, NY.
Mr. Lanning enjoyed fishing, camping, boating and collecting model trucks and tractors.
He leaves his parents of Farrell, PA; his wife, the former Rena Smith, whom he married August 7, 1970; five sons, James R. Goble of Akron, Wayne Lanning of Youngstown, Richard, Danny, and Paul Lanning, all of Akron; one daughter, Rena Lanning of Akron; three brothers, Kenneth Lanning of Elyria, OH, Donald Lanning of Youngstown, and David Lanning of Akron; two sisters, Joann Lambert of Akron and Betty Busse of Youngstown; 11 grandchildren.
Friends may call at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home, Hubbard on Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.
Burial will be in Tod Homestead Cemetery.
