James Simion, Jr's Obituary

HUBBARD James G. Simion Jr., 78, died Tuesday morning, January 10, 2012 at his home. He was born December 25, 1933 in Brookfield, a son of James G. and Anna M. Pipic Simion Sr. and was a lifelong area resident.

Mr. Simion was a mechanic and body man for Yourga Trucking for 10 years, retiring in 1981 and had served with the United States Air Force during the Korean War. James was a member of the Lawrence County Pond Society in New Castle and was the first fiberglass body man in the area in 1953 when the Corvette made its debut. He enjoyed model airplanes and wood crafting.

His first wife, the former Flora Lorene, whom he married August 16, 1954, died July 29, 1988.

He leaves his second wife, the former Sharon L. Vrankovich, whom he married July 4, 1990; a son, Luke A. (Sue) Simion of Brookfield; two daughters, Darlene M. Simion of Warren and Debra A. Simion of Brookfield; a brother, John A. (Ethel) Simion of Brookfield; a sister, Mary Jane Burns of Hubbard; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, James George Simion III.

Funeral services will be held Thursday 7:00 PM at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home.
