Mechanicsburg, PA ~ James Wayne Goodyear, 79, died early Tuesday morning July 21, 2026 at home. He was born in Warren, Ohio a son of Lorain Wayne and Elnora (Ekis) Goodyear on March 12, 1947.

James was a longtime Hubbard resident and a Hubbard High School graduate, before moving to the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania area. He was employed at Goodhart Sons Incorporated before retiring in 2010, he previously worked at Youngstown Sheet and Tube for 20 years. James was proud to serve in the United States Air Force, he was an avid fan of auto racing, football and golf and was of the Protestant faith.

James leaves his daughter Amy Lynn (Kris) Kersetter of Mechanicsburg, PA; his brother Gary Goodyear of Hubbard; two sisters, Terri Hamley of Hartford, CT, Lori (Dan) Kraynak of Chambersburg, PA; three grandsons Jeffrey, Mason and Brennan and two great grandsons Cole and James.

James was preceded in death by his parents and his brother in law Bill Hamley.

Family and friends may call on Saturday July 25, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at The Kelley-Cummins Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at the funeral home at 11:00 AM with Pastor David Coxson officiating.
