HUBBARD ~ James C. Burger 82, passed away peacefully on Tuesday February 3, 2026 surrounded by his loved ones at The Heritage Manor. James was born August 3, 1943 in Warren, a son of Samuel E. Burger and Geraldine A. Medaugh Burger.

James was a member of Central Christian Church of Hubbard and a 1961 Hubbard High School graduate. He was a submarine Commander with the U.S. Navy, retiring in 1983. He was a member of the Hubbard American Legion Post 51, the Hubbard VFW Post 3767, he was an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling.

James leaves his beloved wife Barbara Gordon Burger whom he married June 22, 1963; two sons, James C. (Megan) Burger Jr., of Creston, OH and Jeffrey (Toni) Burger of Seven Hills, OH; a brother, Jerry (Dee) Burger of Florida;  four grandchildren, Roxane Paavola, Sam Burger, Lucas Burger and Sarah Burger; two great grandchildren Ava and Finn Paavola.

James was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Sandra Koebel.

Friends and family may call on Saturday February 21, 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Kelley-Cummins Funeral Home, memorial services will begin at 1:00 PM at the funeral home, with Minister Steve Brown officiating.
