GIRARD  Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 7:00 PM at the Chestnut Ridge Church of God with Pastor Rob McFarland officiating for James A. Bell Jr., 70, who died Saturday afternoon December 24, 2016 at St. Elizabeth Hospital.  He was born March 14, 1946 in Youngstown, a son of James A. and Jane Ann Wilson Bell Sr. and was a lifelong area resident.

Mr. Bell, a 1964 graduate of East High School was a member of the Chestnut Ridge Church of God.  He was a warehouse supervisor for Youngstown City Schools for 32 years, retiring in 1997.  James was a part time associate pastor, Sunday school teacher and a member of the men's ministry.

His first wife, Barbara Diane Peters, whom he married June 15, 1968, died March 11, 2004.

He leaves his second wife, the former Sherri Bessette, whom he married January 26, 2014; two daughters, Donna J. (George) Bellino of Austintown and Elizabeth M. Bell of Niles; a brother, Richard H. (Diana) Bell of Austintown; four step-grandchildren, Brandee M. (James) Osso, Melanie A. Bellino, Leonardo Gonzalez and Jason Fisher.

James was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Donald R. Bell and John H. Bell.

Family and friends may call on Thursday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Chestnut Ridge Church of God, 7215 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Hubbard, OH  44425.
