HUBBARD Ivan J. Tingler, 94, of Hubbard, died Wednesday morning, August 10, 2005, at Meadowbrook Manor in Fowler. He was born January 22, 1911, in Sutton, WV, a son of Ollie and Myrtle Kitts Tingler and lived in Hubbard since 1961, coming from West Virginia.
He retired from the Ely Thomas Lumber Co. in West Virginia and worked at Donnybrook Golf Course in Hubbard for 5 years, retiring in 1972.
Ivan enjoyed hunting.
His first wife, the former Mitchell Snyder, whom he married in 1930, died in 1961 and his second wife, Blanche Keets, whom he married in 1965, died in 1997.
He leaves two sons, Robert Lee Tingler of Vernon and Burl E. Tingler of Hubbard; a stepson, Donald (Helen) Sofchalk, Ph. D. of Minnesota; three daughters, Eileen Johnson of Spokane, WA, Florabell (Tom) Peyton of Raleigh, NC and Shirley (Bob) Hogue of Hubbard; a brother, Homer Tingler of Reno, NV; a sister, Verni Ours of Rootstown, OH; 10 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
His parents, a daughter, Lucille, three brothers, Francis, Percy, and John Tingler and sisters, Genevieve and Beatrice, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home in Hubbard.
Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
