HUBBARD A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday January 4, 2019 at 4:00 PM at the St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Swierz officiating for Irene Baranski, 94, who passed away peacefully at Shepherd of the Valley in Howland on Monday December 31, 2018. She was born on July 6, 1924 in New Castle, PA, the third of seven children born to Stanley and Josephine (Kmiotek) Cwynar.
Irene graduated from New Castle High School in 1942. She attended business school and worked at the New Castle refractories for a number of years and was employed at J.C. Penney in Liberty, OH for 16 years in the payroll department. She was very active and social bowling on a league at Bell Wick Bowl in Hubbard for many years, loved to dance, and participated in a line-dance group called the Valley Girls. She volunteered as an election poll worker in Hubbard and was a devout Catholic, having been a member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church since 1956.
Irene married Frank Baranski in 1951, they had two sons; Mark (Donna) of Howland Township and Michael (Cindy) of Las Vegas, NV. She was blessed with three grandchildren, Kara Baranski of West Palm Beach, FL, Michael (Alison) Baranski of Lake Milton and Trina (Jess) Tucker of Howland Township and one great-grandson, Kallen. Irene will be sadly missed by her sister, Clara McFarland of New Wilmington, PA.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband Frank in 1977; two sisters, Jane Kosior and Mary Lou DeCarbo and three brothers, Walter, Ted and Julian Cwynar.
There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Boardman, OH 44512.
