NEW MIDDLESTOWN Ina Dell Swinney, 96, died Tuesday morning, April 14, 2009, at Greenbriar. She was born February 17, 1913 in Fries, VA a daughter of Terry and Larma Newman Swinney and came to Youngstown in 1926.
Miss Swinney was of the Methodist faith. She worked at Kline's Department Store from 1931 until they closed and also worked at the Record Shop on Market St. in Youngstown until their closing. Ina spent many hours with the USO during WWII and helped so many service men who were away from home. Her life was spent helping others and was devoted to her crafts.
She leaves a sister, Velva Trail, a brother, Ralph Swinney and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, a daughter, Larma Ann, brother in law, Harold Trail and a nephew, Ralph Trail.
A family memorial service will be held Saturday, 2:00 PM at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home, Hubbard
