Howard Bradley's Obituary



HUBBARD Memorial services will be held Friday 7:00 PM at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home for Howard G. Bradley, who passed away April 9, 2013 at Vista Center at the Ridge following an extended illness.

Howard was born in Youngstown on August 19, 1942, a son of Glenn Owen and Jeannette (Sprankle) Bradley. He was a 1960 graduate of Hubbard High School. Howard's lifetime service to his country and community is reflected by his 21 year military career spanning three years with the United States Army, assigned to the Pentagon's G-2 Intelligence Unit, followed by 17 years with the United States Air Force's Office of Special Investigations Unit (OSI). He also served in Vietnam with his OSI Detachment where he was awarded that country's highest military award, the South Vietnamese Medal of Honor, Second Class.

Upon Howard's military retirement he achieved his Master's Degree in Criminal Justice from Youngstown State University, which culminated with his becoming the Hubbard Township Police Chief and later a Hubbard Township Trustee. Howard served as the Village of McDonald's Tax Administrator for 10 years.

Howard was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, a past Master of the Jerusalem Lodge and the Lodge Treasurer for the past 15 years. He was recently awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from the Jerusalem Lodge and the Grand Master of Ohio.

Howard, a private licensed pilot, enjoyed flying and playing golf, especially at the Hidden Oaks course in Vienna where all of his friends congregated.

He is survived by his son, Edward O. (Wendi) Bradley of Eagle Mountain, UT; a daughter, Melissa Lynn Bradley of Sandy, UT; four grandchildren, Madeline, Katelyn, Abigail and Connor all of Eagle Mountain, UT.

Howard is also survived by two sisters, Lynda (Harry) Braglin of Lancaster and Gail (Joseph) Ryan of McDonald and a brother, Walter (Sandie) Bradley of McDonald.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a niece, Jill Braglin of Lancaster.

Howard will be greatly missed and was loved by many.
