HUBBARD Funeral services will be held Thursday 9:30 AM at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home and 10:00 AM at St. Patrick Church, Hubbard for Mrs. Helen M. Smith, 79 of O'Brien Memorial Nursing Home, formerly of Sunset Dr., who died Monday morning at the home.
She was born September 25, 1921 in Youngstown, a daughter of George and Elizabeth Koval Pavel and was a life long area resident.
Mrs. Smith was a seamstress for the former Weatherbee Coat Co. Youngstown, for 35 years, retiring in 1986. Prior to this she worked for the Department of War, Washington, D.C. and Aeroquip Rubber Corp., Youngstown. She was a member of St. Patrick Church, Hubbard, and also St. Jude Church, Chattanooga, TN. She was a member of the Slovak Society, the Sacred Heart Society, a former member of Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church, Youngstown and a 1939 graduate of South High School.
Her husband, Adam Smith whom she married in 1950, died July 13, 1987. She leaves a son, George F. Smith of Hubbard; a daughter Helene Smith of Chattanooga, TN; two brothers, Edward Pavel of Parsippany, NJ and John Pavel of Sarasota, FL; two sisters, Margaret Senvisky of Youngstown and Dorothy Chrobak of New Castle, PA; two grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Three sisters, Ann Pavel, Irene Martin and Mary Pavel, and three brothers, Joseph, Al and George Pavel are deceased.
Friends may call at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home on Wednesday 6 to 8 PM.
