HUBBARD Helen V. Pipic, 72, died Friday morning July 11, 2014 at Northside Hospital. She was born May 4, 1942 in Mercer, PA a daughter of Donald A. and Frances V. Adams Buchanan and moved to Hubbard in 1963 coming from Grove City, PA.
Mrs. Pipic was a 1960 graduate of Grove City High School, worked in records administration at Sharon Regional Hospital for 2 years and previously was an insurance agent for Nationwide Insurance for 19 years.
Helen was past president of the Hubbard ABWA, was a member of the Hubbard Band Boosters having held several offices, the March of Dimes and the Yaya Sisters. She also belonged to local card clubs, SLOGA and was active in Relay for Life. Helen founded the skating parties for Reed Middle School in 1975 and enjoyed bowling, reading and spending time with her family and grandkids.
She leaves her husband, Stephen N. Pipic, whom she married September 8, 1984; three daughters, Sheri L. (JoAnne Sahli) Brockett of Chicago, IL, Stephanie L. (Patrick) Ploenzke of Oberlin and Stacie M. (Gordon Swain) Pipic of Live Oak, TX; three brothers, Robert E. (Doris) Buchanan, William L. (Donna) Buchanan and Donald John Buchanan all of Mercer, PA; five sisters, Doris J. McCoy of Bergholz, Pearl J. (Delbert) Wasser of Johnstown, PA, Roberta Mae Squyres of Saxonburg, PA, Zelda L. Keen of Sharpsville, PA and Judy A. (Lesley) Irwin of Hadley, PA; 4 grandchildren, Anthony L. Zaccanti, Zander V. Ploenzke, Isabella V. Zaccanti and Marcus A. Ploenzke.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Vincent Wayne Buchanan and a granddaughter, Sophia L. Zaccanti.
Family and friends may call on Sunday, 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM and also on Monday 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday 11:00 AM at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home officiated by her brother-in-law, Pastor Del Wasser.
