Helen A. Knapik, 89, of Hubbard, entered into eternal life on Friday, February 19, 2016 at 11:57 p.m. in Liberty Health Care. Mrs. Knapik was born on September 16, 1926 in Masury, Ohio the daughter of the late Valent and Agnes (Sventy) Lawrence and was a graduate of Brookfield High School.
A homemaker, Helen was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Hubbard and belonged to the SOKOL Lodge.
Helen was married to John J. Knapik, Jr. on July 9, 1949 and they were married for 47 years until his passing on May 25, 1996.
Mrs. Knapik is survived by three children John J. Knapik III of Austintown, David P. Knapik of Boardman and Carol A. Murdock of Hubbard; five grandchildren: Matthew (Pam) Murdock, Brianne (Chad) McDonald, Joshua Knapik, Ryan (Alysha) Knapik and Frank (Erica) Knapik; and five great grandchildren Gracie, Frankie, Emily, Cooper and Camden.
Besides her parents and husband, John, Helen was preceded in death by brothers William, Frank, Stephen, Joseph and Anthony "T.L." Lawrence and by a sister Sophie Bush.
A Parlor Service will take place 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 27, 2016 with Pastor David Burman Jr. officiating in the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home, where family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.
Burial will take place in Hubbard Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions take the form of donations in Helen's name to the Animal Welfare League, 812 Youngstown Kingsville Road, Vienna, Ohio 44473.
