Helen Garasky's Obituary
HUBBARD Helen Dicsko Garasky, 93, died Sunday morning October 24, 2010 at Meadowbrook Manor in Fowler. She was born August 2, 1917 in Thompson #1, PA, a daughter of Frank and Mary M. Petruska Dicsko and moved to Youngstown with her family when she was nine years old.
Mrs. Garasky made a career in cosmetology, becoming a hair color specialist for L'Oreal of Paris when it was first introduced to the United States. Moving to California in 1965, she continued her profession by becoming an instructor for Marinelli-Comer Beauty School. After retiring in 1980, she returned to Hubbard and enjoyed serving as a volunteer with St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center.
Her husband John "Pinky" Garasky, whom she married January 30, 1937, died March 19, 1980.
She leaves two children, a daughter Mary Ellen "Mimi" (Jim) Pinchot of Hubbard; and a son, Jack (Dena) Garasky of Pleasant Hills, CA; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, John, Frank (Betty) and Bill (Rosemarie) Dicsko.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, 9:30 AM at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home.
There are no calling hours.
