BROOKFIELD Gerald G. Robbins, 84, died Monday, May 21, 2007, at Corolla, NC, where he was vacationing with his family. He was born August 28, 1922, in Youngstown, a son of Harold and Burdetta Harding Robbins and was a life long area resident.
Mr. Robbins retired in 1972 from GATX where he worked for 30 years. He attended Brookfield Christian Church and was a member of the AMVETS in Vienna, the American Legion and VFW, both of Sharon, PA and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Jerry enjoyed fishing and vacationing and had traveled in all 50 States and all the Providences in Canada.
He leaves his wife, the former Barbara Christy Reiser, whom he married January 19, 1978; one son, Jerry (Jennifer) Robbins of Boardman; one daughter, Helen (Vernon) Sharp of Boardman; two step sons, Gary (Kathy) Reiser and Brian Reiser, both of Brookfield; one brother, Eugene Robbins of Willcox, AZ; grandchildren, Tom (Andrea) Mason, Kelly (Brian) Vickers, Tricia (Norman) Turner, Zac Robbins, Jennifer (William) Norton, Steven (Jennifer) Robbins, Judy (Vince) Ricottilli; step grandchildren, Christy and Monica Reiser, Michael and Meghan Reiser; great grandchildren, Cory, Alexis and Jake Turner, Ian Vickers, Hayden and Sage Mason, Cassie, Morgan and Logan Robbins, Carson Norton and Vincey and Nicholas Ricottilli; step great granddaughter, Riley Ann Chmielewski; and his beloved cat Annie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mildred Boron, a brother, Carl Robbins and a step son Dan Reiser.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Wednesday at the Brookfield Christian Church.
Family and friends may call at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home, Hubbard, on Tuesday from 5 to 8 pm and from 10 to 11 am on Wednesday at the church prior to the service.
