HUBBARD George H. Wray, 87, died Thursday evening September 11, 2014 at St. Joseph Hospital. He was born February 9, 1927 in Sharon, PA a son of George I. and Marian A. Harkless Wray and was a lifelong area resident.
Mr. Wray was an electrician for GATX for 39 years, before retiring in 1985. He was of the Methodist faith and served with the United States Navy during World War II. George enjoyed fishing, camping, spending time with family and watching sports on T.V.
He leaves his wife, the former Ruth D. Clark, whom he married March 9, 1945; a son, George H. Wray Jr. of Hubbard; a daughter, Linda (William) Haydu of Niles; 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Florence Saker and a brother, Clarence L. Wray.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 7:00 PM at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the services on Friday from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home.
Memorial donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 145 Locust St., Akron, OH 44302.
Interment will be at Corner House Cemetery.
