YOUNGSTOWN George L. Schell Jr., 70, died Wednesday evening June 17, 2026 at home. He was born December 29, 1955 a son of George L. and Betty M. Williams Schell Sr. in Youngstown, Ohio.

George was a self-employed tow truck driver and mechanic for many years retiring in 2002. George enjoyed spending time at the wrecking yards, rock and roll music, watching his son-in-law fix his truck and sitting on his front porch with his dogs. George enjoyed going to visit his daughter Barbara at all the different fairs and sitting by the trailer with her, he enjoyed breakfast with son Georgie and enjoyed the time living with his daughter Diana. George loved going to the car shows with his children, especially the Father’s Day car show. Above all he loved his children.

George leaves his son, George L. Schell III, of Austintown; two daughters Barbara (Dan “Danielle”) Shaffer, Diana (Logan) Stilson both of Austintown; two brothers, Larry Schell and Ronald Schell; five sisters, Patricia, Betty, Diana, Barbara and Mary.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends may call on Wednesday June 24, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Kelley-Cummins Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will begin at 6:00 PM at the funeral home.

George’s final resting place will be at Hubbard Union Cemetery.
