Obituary


PULASKI, PA George Mraz, 68, of Pulaski, PA, died Saturday morning, August 20, 2005, at his residence. He was born September 9, 1936, in New Castle, PA, a son of Andrew A. and Mary L. Luongo Mraz and was a life long area resident.

Mr. Mraz retired from Rockwell International after 26 years of employment. He was a member of the New Bedford Presbyterian Church, New Bedford, PA, where he had served as an elder, trustee and a member of the administrative committee. George was also a past president and member of the New Bedford Lions Club, treasurer of the United Steel Workers Union local and a loan office for Family First Credit Union. He enjoyed woodworking and working with stained glass. While serving in the Army, he was involved with testing the hydrogen bomb at Eniwetock, Atoll.

He leaves his wife, the former Helen J. Wrona, whom he married May 7, 1960; a son, George (Lily) Mraz Jr. of Fuquay Varina, NC; a daughter, Mariann M. (William) Brown of Grapevine, TX; one brother, Angelo Mraz of Lebanon, PA and four granddaughters, Alexandra, Taylor, Angelina and Regina.

His parents and a brother, Richard Mraz, preceded him in death.
