HUBBARD George E. Stepanic, Jr., 91, died Thursday May 27, 2010, at Liberty Health Care. He was born April 22, 1919 in Farrell, PA a son of George E. and Agnes Stepanic Sr. and was a lifelong area resident.

Mr. Stepanic was a welder for GATX for over 40 years before retiring in 1978. He was a member of St. Patrick Church. George enjoyed woodworking and built the house he lived in for more than 60 years. He loved sports, especially football and basketball and repairing cars.

He leaves his wife, the former Helen J. Kostecki, whom he married January 31, 1948; a daughter, Georgene Stepanic of Venice, CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Marlene J. Stepanic; two brothers, Lou and John Stepanic and a sister, Rose Knapik.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11:00 AM at St. Patrick Church.

Family and friends may call on Tuesday, one hour prior to the services at the church from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.

Burial will be in Hubbard Union Cemetery.
