HUBBARD George Hreen, 86, of Hubbard, died Sunday June1, 2003 at Northside Medical Center. He was born April 1, 1917, in Sharon, PA, a son of Michael and Anna Frank Hreen and was a life long Hubbard resident.

Mr. Hreen worked for Youngstown Sheet and Tube Co for 44 years, retiring in 1979. He was a member of St. Patrick Church, Knights of Columbus, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Hubbard Post 3767, the Northside Golf League, VFW Golf League and the Northside Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf and served with the Army during World War II.

His wife, the former Gertrude K. Eagin, whom he married November 12, 1947, died May 23, 1999. He leaves three sons, Michael Hreen, Charlie Hreen and Thomas Hreen, all of Colorado; one daughter, Helen, of Sarasota, Florida and one brother, Steve Hreen, of Youngstown.

His parents and four sisters, Mary Braykovick, Ann Kubovick, Veronica and Helen (who died in infancy), and one brother, Michael Hreen, preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, 9:15 AM at the Kelley – Robb Funeral Home and at 10:00 at St. Patrick Church, Hubbard.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, 6 to 8 PM.
