HUBBARD Genevieve V. Meshot, 92, of the Park Vista Retirement Community, formerly of Hubbard, gently and peacefully passed away in her sleep on Thursday, June 4, 2009. Miss Meshot was born in Hubbard on June 17, 1916, a daughter of Anthony and Mary Grace Porfilio Meshot. She was a lifelong Hubbard resident until moving to the Park Vista Retirement Community in June, 2000 and was a member of St. Patrick Church of Hubbard and its Auxiliary Legion of Mary.

Genevieve was a 1934 graduate of Hubbard High School and a graduate of both Youngstown College and Western Reserve University.

Miss Meshot worked as a clerk at the Hubbard Public Library from the time the library was established in 1937 until 1950. She then worked for the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County for almost 30 years retiring in 1979.

She was a member of the American Library Association, Youngstown State University Alumni Association and the Public Employees Retirees.

She leaves to cherish her memory many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, great �great nieces and nephews and cousins, along with many long time friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Rose M. Scott and Fannie Meshot and four brothers, Louis, Felix, Dominic and James Meshot.

Her niece, Margie Kohl, would like to thank all involved in Gen�s life and care - her family and friends, the doctors, the Park Vista Retirement Community staff, especially Marva, Bev, Danielle, the midnight nursing staff and Joe and the maintenance staff. Also, Comfort Keepers of Youngstown and all their caregivers, especially Sharyn, Fannie, Vickie, Deneen, Valerie, Karen, Yvonne, Darnell and Sheila.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, 10:30 am at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home and at 11:00 am at St. Patrick Church.

Family and friends may call from 9:00 am until the prayer service at 10: 30 am at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home on Monday.

As education was very important to Miss Meshot, her niece requests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to St. Patrick School, 38 East Water St. Hubbard, OH 44425 or to Cardinal Mooney High School, 2545 Erie Street, Youngstown, OH 44507.
