HUBBARD Genevieve "Gen" Haywood, 82 of Hubbard, died Saturday morning, March 15, 2003, at Sharon Regional Health System. She was born February 10, 1921, in Czechoslovakia, a daughter of Felix and Frances Karlik Swarney and came to this country as an infant moving to Hubbard in 1954.
Mrs. Haywood worked for Federal Wholesale Company in Hubbard for 22 years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of St. Patrick Church and enjoyed vacationing in Las Vegas and spending time with her family and her Shetland Sheepdog, Missy (Misbehaving) Haywood.
Her husband, Albert (Ted) Haywood, whom she married April 10, 1948, died April 9, 1992. She leaves two sons, Kenneth A. Haywood of North Canton, OH and James E. (Tiffin) Haywood, Sr. of Salem, OH; a brother, Rudy Svarny of Sharon, PA and a sister, Mildred Ward of Brookfield, OH; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Her parents, three sons who died in infancy, two brothers, William and Joseph Svarny and a sister, Frances Kovack preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 9:15 AM at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home and 10:00 AM at St. Patrick Church.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.
