YOUNGSTOWN Frank J. Vlock, 81, died Wednesday afternoon July 20, 2011. He was born October 31, 1929 in Hubbard, a son of Frank J. and Barbara C. Black Vlock, Sr. and was a lifelong area resident living in Liberty for 57 years.
Mr. Vlock was a machine operator for Republic Rubber for 39 years retiring in 1978. He was a member of St. Edwards Church and served with the United States Army during the Korean War. Frank loved to garden, bowl, play poker and enjoyed fishing, golfing, hunting and horse racing.
He leaves his wife, the former Patricia E. Shovlin, whom he married July 3, 1954; two daughters, Patty ( Gary) Perkins of Elyria and Barbara (Larry) Demyan of Twinsburg; a brother, Robert J. Vlock of Erie and two grandchildren, Laura Perkins and Matthew Perkins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Raymond D. Vlock and a sister, Irene Parker.
Funeral services will be held Saturday 11:00 AM at St. Edward Church.
Family and friends may call on Saturday 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Edward Church.
Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
