HUBBARD Frank T. Petrek, 79, died Wednesday evening September 9, 2015, at his home, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born July 29, 1936 in Hubbard, OH, a son of John and Johanna Duncko Petrek and was a lifelong Hubbard resident.
Mr. Petrek was a graduate of Hubbard High School and served with the United States Army. He owned and operated Buckeye Leisure Products for over 40 years, which opened in 1972 and was also a lifelong farmer. Frank was past president of the Hubbard Optimist Club, a member of the Slovak Club, the Saxon Club and the Farm Bureau. He enjoyed farming, John Deer tractors, going to auctions, taking care of his animals, and especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Frank will be sadly missed by his loving wife, the former Shirley Bloos, whom he married November 29, 1959; four daughters, Brenda (Gary) Henderson of Hubbard, Beverly (Dave) Michalsky of Michigan, Barb (Tim) Novotny of Hubbard and Bernadette (Ira) Lilly of Hilliard; nine grandchildren, Erica, Jarrod, Brian, Stacy, Adam, Blake, Taylor, Amber and Megan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, John and Joseph Petrek; and a sister, Mary Dohallow.
Funeral Services will be held Monday September 14, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home.
Family and friends may call on Sunday September 13, 2015 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home.
