HUBBARD Frank F."Tacky" Carsone, 81, of Youngstown, died Saturday morning, July 8, 2006, at Louis Stokes VA Medical Center in Cleveland. He was born December 21, 1924, in Hubbard, a son of Frank and Mary Adesso Carsone and was a lifelong area resident.
Mr. Carsone was an operating engineer working out of Operating Engineers, Union Local 66 for 40 years, retiring in 1978. He was a member of St. Patrick Church in Hubbard and the Knights of Columbus Msgr. Francis J. Hughes Council No. 2072. A U.S. Army veteran during World War II, he was a German prisoner of war having been captured in Italy. He was a member of the VFW Post No. 3762 in Hubbard and the Retirees Club of Operating Engineers. Tacky was an avid golfer, showed Arabian horses and enjoyed spending time with his grandsons.
He leaves his wife, the former Josephine August, whom he married on November 28, 1946; a son, Frank F. (Renee) Carsone III of Hubbard; a daughter, Charlene (Thomas) Butryn of North Lima; two brothers, Paul Carsone of Baltimore, MD and James Carsone of Hubbard; a sister, Gloria Hill of Hubbard and two grandsons, Frank F. Carsone IV and Andrew Joseph Carsone.
His parents, a brother, Nick Carsone and three sisters, Josephine Vukovich, Marie Rosile and Phil Rosile, preceded him in death.
In keeping with Mr. Carsone's request, private services were held Monday afternoon, July 10, 2006 at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home in Hubbard.
