HUBBARD Florence Spiech entered into rest Saturday, February 3, 2007, at her son Richard's home surrounded by her loving family. Florence was born March 26, 1926, in Youngstown, a daughter of Mike and Florence Vintella Nicora. She was a 1944 graduate of Hubbard High school and attended Youngstown State University. She worked for Crowell Collier Publishing Co. in Youngstown as chief clerk for 20 years.
Her husband, Ted, whom she married October 18, 1952, died February 27, 1970. They opened Spiech Men's and Boy's Clothing store located in downtown Hubbard 48 years ago and continued to operate the store after his death. Florence was semi-retired with her son Richard running the business.
She has been a sponsor of the Spiech Men's and Boy's Classic League at Bell-Wick Bowl in Hubbard for 29 years.
Florence was a member of the Holy Trinity Romanian Orthodox Church in Youngstown and the Carmen Sylvin Auxiliary. She loved to read and enjoyed her grandchildren who were very close to her. When they were in sports, she was there to cheer them on.
She leaves a son, Richard (Bettyann) Spiech of Hubbard and Michael (Jody) Spiech of Canfield; a brother, Mike Nicora of Hubbard; sister-in-law, Veronica Kakaruda of Boardman; five grandchildren Callie Oyler and Kenneth Oyler and Samantha, Connor and Evan Spiech. She also leaves nieces and nephews, Debra Davis and Kathy Abend of Florida, Michael Nicora of Hubbard, David Nicora of Chagrin Falls, Marilyn Hanley of Hubbard and John Kalonsky of Struthers.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Cheryl Ann Oyler and a sister, Anne Davis.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 11:00 am at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home.
Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Monday, 6 to 8 pm, where a prayer service will be held at 7:30 pm, and on Tuesday one hour prior to the service.
