HUBBARD Felix A. "Carp" Hallsky, 85, of Hubbard, died on Monday morning, May 21, 2007, at Northside Medical Center. He was born on September 21, 1921, in Hubbard, a son of Edward and Katherine Hallsky and was a lifelong Hubbard resident.
Mr. Hallsky was a welder for the Powell Press Steel Company in Hubbard for 45 years, retiring in 1981. A U. S. Army veteran having served with the 28th Infantry during World War II, he was a tank gunner in the Battle of the Bulge and was awarded three Bronze Stars. "Carp" enjoyed fishing, gardening and watching Cleveland sporting events. He was of the Catholic faith.
His wife, the former Pearl S. Vargo, whom he married on November 19, 1949, died on June 23, 1994.
He leaves three sons, Mark (Joan) Toth, Ed (Jo Ann) Hallsky and Felix "Buddy" (Darlene) Hallsky, all of Hubbard; two daughters, Kathy (Richard) Perline and Roseann Panning, both of Hubbard; nine grandchildren, Richard (Renee) Perline, Amy (Ron) Taylor, Mark Toth, Julie Toth, Amanda Perline, Brandi Panning, Kristen Hallsky, Sarah Hallsky and Kevin Hallsky and three great-grandchildren, Taylor, Madison and Kennedy Perline.
Besides his wife, his parents and a brother, Edward Hallsky, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home in Hubbard, where family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
