LIBERTY TWP Private memorial services were held at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Basilica in Youngstown with the Very Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Cariglio Jr. officiating for Eugene Tarica, 90, who died Tuesday February 12, 2019 at St. Joseph Hospital. He was born July 10, 1928 in Youngstown, a son of John and Josephine Dabruzzi Tarica and was a lifelong area resident.

Mr. Tarica was a 1947 graduate of The Rayen High School and a member of the Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Basilica in Youngstown. He was a brick mason for the Cafaro Company for over 40 years, before retiring in 1962. Eugene enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing.

He leaves his wife, the former Helen Dorbish, whom he married April 12, 1949 at St. Cyril and Methodius Church in Youngstown; a son, Thomas Tarica of Hubbard and a daughter, Diane Diaz and her husband Carlos of Hubbard; a sister, Dorothy Barbato of Austintown; 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Edward Tarica; a brother, John Tarica and two sisters, Madeline Dabruzzi and Rose Musolino.

There were no calling hours.

Eugene's final resting place will be at Hubbard Union Cemetery.
