HUBBARD Esther Delores Elbel, 81, of Hubbard, died Friday evening, December 2, 2005. She was born February 20, 1924, in Evansville, IN, a daughter of Eli A. and Lucy J. Durham Rhoades and had lived in the area since 1946.

A homemaker, Esther was a member of the Coalburg United Methodist Church and enjoyed sewing, crafts and quilting.

Her husband, Harland P. Elbel, whom she married January 23, 1946, died March 21, 1994. She leaves two sons, Gary R. (Karen) Elbel of Hubbard and Harland "Pete" (Lynne) Elbel II of Hubbard; two daughters, Joyce Ann (Lloyd) Chambers of Liberty and Shirley G. Burrell of Masury; three brothers, Clarence Rhoades of Cedar Hill, MO, Melvin Rhoades of Gray Summit, MO and Danny Lee Rhoades of Evansville, IN; three sisters, Margie Campbell of Yuma AZ, Rita Pinto of Las Vegas, NV, and Mary Lou Wiles of Evansville, IN; 12 grandchildren and 7 great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Eugene Rhoades, and a sister, Betty Bailey.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11:00 am at the Coalburg United Methodist Church.

Friends may call at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home on Monday, 5 to 8 pm and on Tuesday from 10 to 11 at the church.
