WEST MIDDLESEX, PA Elsie E. Root, 87, of West Middlesex, died Friday morning, August 10, 2007, at St. Elizabeth Health Center. She was born on December 12, 1919, in Masury, OH, a daughter of George and Bertha Landgrabe Coxson and was a lifelong area resident.

Mrs. Root, a homemaker, assisted her husband in running their family farm. She was a member of the New Bedford Presbyterian Church, a former member of the Harvesters Senior Citizens and Happy Wanderers and enjoyed dancing and swimming.

Her husband, Donald C. Root, whom she married on August 25, 1938, died on August 17, 1991.

She leaves five sons, Donald A. Root, Ronald F. Root and David E. Root, all of West Middlesex, PA, Kenneth M. Root of Pulaski, PA and Russell K. Root of Campbell, OH; three daughters, Irene L. DeStasio of Pulaski, PA, Joyce C. Walton of West Middlesex, PA and Renee R. Burrows of Lowellville, OH; 22 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.

Besides her husband, her parents, five sisters, Martha Wasilko, Bessie Coonce, Alberta Shook, Rose Coxson and Mary Coxson and five brothers, Roy, Bert, Dave, Gus and Charles Coxson, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the New Bedford Presbyterian Church, 151 Woodland Drive, New Bedford, PA 16140.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home in Hubbard and from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the church, prior to the service.
