SHIPPENSBURG, PA Elnora D. Goodyear, 85, formerly of Hubbard, died on Sunday morning, July 15, 2007, at her residence. She was born on September 25, 1921, in Hilliards, PA, a daughter of Samuel C. and Minnie Rosenberry Ekis, living in Hubbard until 1991 when she moved to Shippensburg, PA.
Mrs. Goodyear, a homemaker, worked for many area families as a domestic. She was a former member of the Hubbard Church of the Nazarene, the Hubbard Evangelical Congregation Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher for many years and a charter member of the Country Corner Garden Club in Hubbard. Elnora was a member of the Shippensburg Church of the Nazarene, the AARP and the Shippensburg Senior Citizens No. 1. She enjoyed flower gardening and antiquing.
Her husband, Wayne L. Goodyear, whom she married on August 22, 1942, died on June 12, 1962.
She leaves two sons, James W. Goodyear of Carlisle, PA and Gary E. Goodyear of Hubbard; two daughters, Terry L. (William) Hamley of Meriden, CT and Lori A. (Pastor Dan) Kraynek of Chambersburg, PA; a sister-in-law, Ruth Ekis of Hubbard; eight grandchildren, Jennifer LoPresti of Meriden, CT, Amy Goodyear of Mechanicsburg, PA, Stacy Goodyear and Stephanie Goodyear, both of Hubbard, Danny L. Kraynek of Shippensburg, PA, Bryan A. Kraynek and Justin T. Kraynek of Chambersburg, PA and Noah Goodyear of Philadelphia, PA; two great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Cornman and Mason Cornman, both of Mechanicsburg, PA; many nieces and nephews and a special friend, Mary Novosel of Hubbard.
Besides her husband, her parents, two brothers, Harold Ekis and Edward Ekis and five sisters, Dorothy Starkey, Elta Haybarger, Anna Cowden, Emma Wad and Alberta Seebaugh, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home in Hubbard.
