HUBBARD A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church for Ellen Mary Slick 90, who died Sunday afternoon May 17, 2015 at Humility of Mary Nursing Home. She was born August 26, 1924 in South Fork, PA a daughter of Raymond Eugene and Ellen Claire Malloy and lived in Hubbard for 60 years coming from Johnstown, PA.
Mrs. Slick was a secretary at Youngstown Manufacturing from 1954 to 1972 and was the director of the Railroad Retirement Board of the Youngstown area from 1972 to 1986. She was a member of St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church in Niles where she was a lector and was a former member of St. Patrick Roman Catholic Church.
Ellen enjoyed doing cross stitch, water aerobics, word puzzles and traveling with her sisters.
She leaves a son, John J. Slick of Hubbard; a daughter, Sister Mary Slick HM of Hubbard; a brother, John J. Plummer of Dayton and several nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Raymond Eugene Plummer; three sisters, Mary Delores Wess, Joan Britton and Margaret Evans and two sisters-in-law, Ann and Joyce Plummer.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday, one hour prior to the services from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St. Stephen Roman Catholic Church.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Humility House for the wonderful care given to mom while she was there.
