HUBBARD Elizabeth "Betty" Gest, 96, of Hubbard, died Tuesday evening, September 13, 2005, at UPMC Shenango. She was born March 24, 1909, in Youngstown, a daughter of Martin and Mary Birsh Dupay and was a life long area resident.
Mrs. Gest formerly worked for The Midtowner and The Golden Platter Restaurants. Betty was a member of St. Patrick Church in Hubbard and enjoyed cooking and sewing.
Her husband, Joseph Leo Gest, whom she married in 1930, died in November 1963.
She leaves two sons, Joseph L. Gest, Jr. of Hubbard and James M. Gest of Overland Park, KS, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Besides her husband, her parents, two daughters, Jean M. Tuck and Elizabeth A. Rhode, two brothers, Albert and Martin Dupay and two sisters, Mary Schamoski and Anna Almus preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, 9:15 a.m. at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home and at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Church in Hubbard.
Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
