HUBBARD Elizabeth Check, 97, died Thursday, October 24, 2008, in Shepard of the Valley, Boardman. She was born September 29, 1911, in Tower Hill, PA, a daughter of Andrew and Mary Ondira Trocheck and lived in Hubbard for the past 55 years.

Mrs. Check worked for W. T. Grant Store as a manager for 16 years, retiring in 1961. She was a member of St. Patrick's Church of Hubbard, and enjoyed gardening, flowers and crocheting.

Her husband, Joseph Check, whom she married April 30, 1928, died October 23, 1973. She leaves two daughters, Ann Hanlon of Youngstown and Dorothy Hahn of California; six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.

Besides her husband and parents, one son, William J. Check, one granddaughter, Janice Hanlon, and several brothers and sisters preceded her in death.

Private funeral services were held on Monday at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home.

There were no calling hours.
