HUBBARD Elizabeth A. "Betty" Caffo, 84, loving mother and grandmother, died Sunday evening, April 10, 2005, at Northside Medical Center. She was born April 3, 1921, in Bethlehem, PA, a daughter of Anton and Mary Birkas Kali and lived in Hubbard since 1953.
Mrs. Caffo was a former secretary for Children & Family Service in Youngstown and prior to this worked for Harvell Manufacturing. A member of St. Patrick Church in Hubbard for over 50 years, Betty was the first woman lector in 1976, a communion distributor and president of the Altar & Rosary Society in 1970. She was also a lector for the Youngstown Diocese TV Mass for Shut-ins from 1980-1983.
Her husband, Louis L. Caffo, whom she married September 20, 1941, died April 16, 1992.
Betty leaves two sons, Ronald Caffo of Syktyvkar, Russia and David Caffo of Santa Barbara, CA; two daughters, Sandra Caffo of Pittsburgh, PA and Kathleen Wilch of Greenville, SC; two brothers, Anthony Kali of Cleveland and Stephen Kali of Hubbard; 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Besides her husband, both her parents and three sisters, Mary Kali, Anna Kali and June Crocevera preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at St. Patrick Church in Hubbard.
Friends may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home.
