HUBBARD Eli Moga, 91, died Wednesday March 19, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center. He was born August 2, 1922 in Hubbard, a son of Nicholae and Marie Beu Moga and was a lifelong Hubbard resident.
Mr. Moga worked at Powell Pressed Steel for 45 years, having been a welder and Union President. After retiring, Eli was the Hubbard Twp. Zoning Inspector for 20 years.
Eli was a 1940 graduate of Hubbard High School and attended Youngstown State University. He was a member of Holy Trinity Romanian Orthodox Church in Youngstown and served with the United Sates Army during World War II from 1942 to 1945 overseas in the O.S.S..
Eli was a member of the Hubbard High School Alumni Association and the Hubbard VFW Post No. 3767. He loved the Cleveland Browns, the Cleveland Indians and never missed a Hubbard football game until he just physically could no longer attend.
His wife, the former Sylvia M. Filimon, whom he married January 19, 1947, died June 13, 2007.
He leaves a daughter, Susan (Dale) Siciliano of Hubbard; a sister, Nora Moga of Hubbard; a sister-in-law, Helen Moga; a nephew, Nicholas (Nancy) Moga of Virginia; two granddaughters, Lisa (Jacques) Armand of Colorado and Gina (Mike) Pustai of Cleveland and two great granddaughters, Isabella Armand and Scarlett Pustai.
Eli was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Nicholas Moga; a sister, Mary Moga; an infant sister, Elena Moga and a nephew Myron Moga.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 12:00 PM at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home.
Family and friends may call on Monday one hour prior to the services from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Kelley-Robb-Cummins Funeral Home.
Interment will take place at Hubbard Union Cemetery.
