WEST MIDDLESEX Edythe M. Moorhouse, 83 of West Middlesex, PA. died Friday morning, April 4, 2003, at her home. She was born August 25, 1919, in Coitsville Township, OH a daughter of John and Alice Clark Wylam and was a life long area resident.
Mrs. Moorhouse was the assistant manager at Cloth World Fabrics until 1978. Prior to this she worked as a service manager for McKelvey's Department Store retiring in 1968 and had also served as the cafeteria manager for New Bedford School, New Bedford, PA.
She was a member of New Bedford Presbyterian Church, New Bedford, PA and a former member of Coitsville Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Ladies of the Lions, New Castle, PA, Coitsville Garden Club, Oakwood Garden Club and the Garden Forum of Lawrence County. She also volunteered as a cook for 27 years at the Lawrence County Conservation Camp.
Her husband, Robert L. Moorhouse Sr. whom she married April 16, 1938, died January 1, 1985. She leaves two sons, Robert L. (Mary "Beth") Moorhouse of Pulaski, PA and William L. (Deborah) Moorhouse of New Bedford, PA; two sisters, Alice Rodkey of Youngstown and Irma Eder of Boardman; four grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Her parents, three brothers, Roy, Bill and Glenn Wylam, and three sisters, Mildred States, Annabel Oakes and Dorothy Parliman are deceased.
Private funeral service will be held at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home, Hubbard on Monday.
