HUBBARD Dorothy E. Bassett, 86, of Hubbard, died Monday afternoon, March 19, 2007. She was born on December 28, 1920, in Hubbard, a daughter of Romeo and Jennie Ross DeVeto and was a lifelong area resident.

Mrs. Bassett had been an assistant secretary at St. Patrick School in Hubbard for many years, and prior to this, worked at Gray's Drug Stores. She was a member of St. Patrick Church in Hubbard and a member and past vice president of its Altar & Rosary Society. Dorothy was the membership chairperson for the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart, member and past secretary for the Knights of Columbus Msgr. Francis J. Hughes Council No. 2072 Auxiliary and a member of the Italian Lodge No. 2539.

She leaves her husband, Anthony J. Bassett, whom she married on April 30, 1949, a son, James A. (Cynthia) Bassett of Canfield and two grandchildren, Kyle and Patrick Bassett.

Her parents, a brother, Charles James DeVeto and two sisters, Christina Patrick and Florence McNabb, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, 9:15 a.m. at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home and 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick Church in Hubbard.

Family and friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home, where there will be a Rosary service at 7:00 p.m.
