HUBBARD Donna Jean Palko, 69, died Friday afternoon October 12, 2012 at Hospice House. She was born November 10, 1942 in Youngstown, a daughter of Charles and Anna S. Coleman Zadravec and was a lifelong Hubbard resident.
Mrs. Palko was a member of St. Patrick Church and a 1960 graduate of Hubbard High School. Donna worked for WFMJ Television in national advertising for 13 years, retiring in November of 2001. She loved gardening, anxiously awaiting spring so she could start digging in the dirt and was past president of the Hubbard Junior Garden Club.
Donna enjoyed traveling and walked the Mackinac Bridge in Mackinaw, Michigan 5 times. She was an avid reader and loved doing crossword puzzles. A special grace, if she met you, she always remembered your name, and if you were sick, she always had a card in the mail with encouraging thoughts. Most of all she loved her family.
She leaves her husband, James W. Palko Sr., whom she married September 4, 1965; a son, James W. (Kristine) Palko Jr. of West Middlesex; two brothers-in-law, Tharen Lentz Sr. of Hubbard and William (Judy) Palko of Sheffield Lake, OH; two cousins, Ronald Coleman of Canfield and Rose Marie Millich of Winston Salem, NC and a nephew, Tharen Lentz, Jr. of Hubbard. She also leaves her lifelong friend, Gloria Miner.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Mary L. Lentz and an infant daughter, Lea Ann Palko.
