HUBBARD Donald L. Stewart, 62 of Hubbard, died Wednesday, February 27, 2002, at his residence. He was born July 22, 1939, in New Springfield, OH, a son of Samuel A. and Esther Hulton Stewart and lived most of his life in Hubbard.
Mr. Stewart was a press mechanic for U.S. Can Corp., Hubbard for 32 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Youngstown, and a member of the Hubbard Volunteer Fire Department from 1970 to 1992. He was a member of the United Steelworkers of America AFL CIO Local Union No. 4427 and had served as a Grievance Officer and Financial Secretary for the local union. He was also one of the founders of the Sher-Wil Credit Union.
He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and dirt bike riding and was a former Little League Baseball coach. He graduated from Hubbard High School in 1958.
In addition to his father, Samuel A. Stewart of Hubbard, he leaves his wife, the former Roberta F. Michael, whom he married June 4, 1960; a son Daniel A. Stewart of Hubbard; one daughter, Gigi M. (Richard) Sandberg of Brookfield; three brothers, Charles W., Edwin E. and Frederick R. Stewart, all of Brookfield; two granddaughters. His mother is deceased.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home, Hubbard.
