Obituary


HUBBARD Donald S. Jones, 84, of Hubbard, died Friday March 14, 2003 at St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center. He was born January 14, 1919 in Youngstown, a son of Herbert and Madeline Gross Jones and was a lifelong area resident.

Mr. Jones owned and operated the Broadway Diner, Youngstown for 25 years, was a foreman for McKenzie Muffler for 20 years and also worked for the Youngstown Water Department. He was a member of the St. Patrick Church, Hubbard and served with the United States Army during World War II. Mr. Jones was a 1937 graduate of Ursuline High School, a member of the Ursuline Boosters and enjoyed woodworking, yard work, baseball, boating and camping.

His first wife, the former, Annabelle Faloon, whom he married October 19, 1941, died March 9, 1979; he leaves his second wife, the former, Anna Keil, whom he married March 27, 1982; two sons, Donald P. Jones of Howland and William G. (Bonnie) Jones of Girard; two stepsons, Mark Matas of Costa Mesa, CA and Aaron J. Matas of Transfer, PA; a daughter, Shirley A. (Thomas) Libeg of Masury and a stepdaughter, Pamela J. (George) Nalywaiko of Anderson, IN; 17 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Robert M. Jones and two brothers, George and Charles Jones.

Funeral services will be held Monday, 11:45 AM at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home, Hubbard and 12:30 PM at St. Patrick Church, Hubbard.

Friends may call at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home on Sunday, 5 to 8 PM.
