HUBBARD Denise G. Stinson Morrison, 58, went to be with the Lord on Monday morning January 17, 2011. She was at her home with her loving family by her side when she lost her courageous battle with cancer.
Denise was born December 21, 1952 in Youngstown to Margaret "Peg" Vanasdale Stinson and Ernest Stinson.
Mrs. Morrison was a 1971 graduate of Hubbard High School and worked for the Youngstown Osteopathic Hospital for 10 years as a dietician, and was previously a manager for Country Kitchen in Hubbard. She was a member of the New Life Christian Church, was very active in the Solidarity USA, a retiree group who fought for area people's pensions. Denise enjoyed collecting bears and dolls and loved to go to Wheeling Downs to play the slots.
She shared the last 39 years of her life with the love of her life Jerry E. "Mountain" Morrison.
She is survived by her three beloved sisters, Renee (John) Jury of Austintown, Ricky Rolfe of Hubbard and Kellie (Ron) Nord of Hubbard; two brothers, Ernest Stinson of Hubbard and Roger (Gretchen) Stinson of Hubbard.
She also leaves behind to cherish her memory four stepchildren, Mark Morrison of Indiana, Scott Morrison of Hubbard, Kim Morrison of Struthers and Margaret (Eric) Porter of Struthers; four beautiful grandchildren, Kelley, Aaron and Mathew Morrison of Indiana and Ryan Porter of Struthers; numerous nieces and nephews who were the joy of her life, her best friend, Peggy (George) Whitacre of Youngstown and a sister-in-law Michelle Terabasi
Denise will always be remembered for her strength, humor, kindness, generosity and her ability for unconditional love. She was an inspiration to all who ever had the honor to know her
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held Friday 11:00 AM at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home.
Family and friends may call on Thursday 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Belmont Park Cemetery.
