HUBBARD Delores I. "Dee" Shodd, 77, of Hubbard, died Tuesday morning, October 24, 2006, at Northside Medical Center. She was born on May 6, 1929, in Koppel, PA, a daughter of Frank W. and Minnie Pearl Hackett Dripps and lived most of her life in Hubbard.
Mrs. Shodd, a homemaker, was a member of Victory Christian Center, where she was a member of the Prayer Warriors and had her own card ministry sending over 125 cards per month. She was past president of the Women's Ministry of Covenant Life Fellowship in Hubbard and enjoyed singing and being involved in many church singing activities. Dee was a devoted mother and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A devout Christian, she worshipped Jesus as her Lord and Savior and He meant more to her than life itself. Dee was always conveying to everyone she met "the love of Jesus and to know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior."
She leaves her husband, Robert Shodd, whom she married on June 3, 1950; a son, Marty (Joann) Shodd of Hubbard; three daughters, Patricia (Ray) Moffitt, Dott (Tom) Wukelich and Diana (Rick) Keenan, all of Hubbard; a daughter-in-law, Teddie Sturges of Masury; her extended family members, Clarence and Jean Redick of Sharon, PA; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.
Preceding her in death were her parents, a son, Bobby Sturges, brothers, Frank, Sam, John, Robert, Harry and Pat Dripps and a sister, Dorothy Sturges.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, at Victory Christian Center, 3899 McCartney Road in Lowellville.
Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home in Hubbard and from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Friday at Victory Christian Center, prior to the services.
