David E.
Trehan
Jul 15, 1943 — Nov 2, 2026
David Edward Trehan, 83, a lifelong resident of Hubbard, Ohio, passed away on November 2, 2026. He was born on July 15, 1943, in Youngstown, Ohio.
He is survived by his wife of more than 60 years, Mary Louise (Mariano); his son, Scott, and daughter-in-law, Gina; and his five grandchildren: granddaughters Kenadie and Keirstin, and grandsons Zachary, JJ, and Sammy Trehan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Irene (Fenisey) Trehan, and his sisters, Shirley and Pam.
Dave was a devoted husband to Mary Louise, always looking out for her and caring for her. He was the proudest dad to his son, Scott, who was not only his son but his best friend. They shared a love of sports, and he could almost always be found watching a game.
His five grandchildren were a tremendous source of pride and joy. He loved watching his granddaughters sing and perform on stage as they grew up, and he was so proud to watch them thrive in college. He enjoyed watching his grandsons play sports and making up silly songs and laughing with them. He also loved playing air hockey and pool with the kids. He cherished every opportunity to spend time with them.
His love of sports extended beyond watching games. He dedicated many years to coaching youth sports in the Hubbard community, including baseball and soccer. He especially enjoyed coaching his son, Scott, and continued coaching even after Scott went off to college, making a lasting impact on the young athletes and families he met along the way.
Dave spent more than 40 years working for Mahoning Lumber Company, where he built lasting friendships with many of the contractors he worked with. Most recently, he worked for Delfs Inc. before retiring at the age of 79.
Dave also had a special love for his golden retrievers over the years, who were always an important part of his life. His latest companion, Ginger, will surely miss him.
One of his favorite traditions was hosting Christmas Eve for the family each year. Bringing everyone together was something he truly enjoyed, and those gatherings became cherished memories for the entire family.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.
