Daniel Trolio's Obituary


HUBBARD Daniel G. Trolio, 88, passed into the hands of the Lord on Tuesday morning, April 6, 2010 after a brief illness. He was born in Colobraro, Italy on October 17, 1921. His parents, Anthony and Nicolette (Joy) Trolio brought him to the United States in 1922 settling in Brier Hill.

Daniel served with the United States Army during World War II in France and Germany as a Corporal in Company C 635th Tank Destroyer Battalion. He received the Good Conduct Medal, the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with five bronze stars and the World War II Victory Medal.

Upon his return, he married Virginia Camuso on May 11th, 1946 making their home in Hubbard. He is survived by Virginia and their two children, Georgia and Anthony (Juliana) also from Hubbard. He adored his three grandchildren, Jaclyn, Michelle and Daniel who will have many memories of the time they shared with him.

Daniel was a carpenter and was a member of Local 171 for 58 years. He also served as a Hubbard Auxiliary policeman for many years. He retired in 1983 and enjoyed 26 years of retirement.

He spent his retirement golfing and traveling. "Duke" was also well known as a great dancer. He will always be remembered for his great sense of humor, unbelievable memory and entertaining storytelling.

Daniel was a member of St. Patrick Church in Hubbard. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Hubbard Council 2072.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Albert and Nick and sisters, Rose and Jean. He is survived by his brothers, Joseph Trolio of Hubbard and Anthony Trolio of Poland.

Funeral services will be held Friday, 10:00 AM at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home and 10:30 AM at St. Patrick Church.

Family and friends may call on Thursday, 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home.
