BARTLETT, TN Daniel Joseph Hivner, 66, died Tuesday March 16, 2010 at the Memphis Veterans Hospital in Memphis, TN. He was born December 28, 1943 in Hudson, MI, a son of the late Edgar and Henrietta Houser Hivner.

Daniel attended Hubbard High School and served four years in the United States Navy. Before moving to Tennessee, he worked for GATX until its closing and also for the City of Hubbard Street Department. He loved fishing and camping.

He will be sadly missed and remembered by his daughter, Brenda Barnhart Stow; a son, Kenneth Cole and six grandchildren. Also surviving Daniel are his sisters, Nancy Young, Peggy Phillips and Becky Wachtel; brothers, John, Larry, Carl and Chris and his longtime hunting and fishing buddy Jim "JJ" Johnson. Those who loved him will surely miss his smile and unique laugh.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother George and sisters, Kathy Vestal, Mary Jane Heiss and Dorothy Whorten.

A prayer service, officiated by his brother John Hivner, was held Friday, March 19, 2010 at Memphis National Cemetery.
