HUBBARD Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church, Hubbard for Dale E. Williams, 89 of Aurora Manor, 101 South Bissell Rd. Aurora, OH, formerly of Hubbard, who died Saturday morning at his residence following a long illness. He was born April 18, 1911, in Youngstown, a son of John W. and Emma M. Shonce Williams and lived most of his life in Hubbard.
Mr. Williams was a 1932 graduate of Ohio University and worked for General Fireproofing Co. for 42 years, retiring in 1975 as Manager of Technical Services. After retiring, he was a consultant for 10 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Hubbard where he served on the Official Board for many years and was a member of the Men's Club and the Homebuilders.
He served on the Hubbard Board of Education for eight years and was the President of the Board for four years. He was a member of the Industrial X Ray Society, Non Destructive Test Society, American Electroplating and Finishing Society, Association of Manufacturing Engineers, Association of Finishing Engineers, a member and past president of the Mahoning Valley Industrial Management Association and a charter member of the Aluminum Association.
Mr. Williams was a founding member of the Men's Garden Club of Hubbard and a life member of the Garden Clubs of Ohio. He also belonged to the Hubbard High School Alumni Association and the Hubbard Historical Society.
His wife, the former Virginia Bailey, whom he married June 11, 1936, died July 13, 1994. He leaves three daughters, Rev. Carole A. Damschroeder of Gibsonburg, OH, Elaine L. Lewis of Boardman and Jeannie Neary of Hudson, OH; three sisters, Margaret Bower and Alma Easterbrook, both of Columbia, SC and Alza Wagner of Hubbard; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Three sisters, Ruth and Vera Williams and Gladys Young are deceased.
Friends may call at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home, Hubbard, Tuesday, 5 to 8 PM and at church one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
Contributions can be made to Memorial Fund of the First United Methodist Church or the Cleveland Clinic, Department of Familial Ovarian Cancer Research.
