YOUNGSTOWN Dale Fredrick Roth, 70, of Youngstown, died Wednesday evening October 27, 2010 at Hospice House from a battle with ALS. He was born December 29, 1939 in Youngstown, a son of George J. and Mildred I. Gill Roth and was a lifelong area resident.

Mr. Roth was an extruder for West and Barker Inc. in Niles for 25 years and had previously worked for Aeroquip for 19 years. He was a member of the Church Hill United Methodist Church.

Dale enjoyed tending his flower gardens, mowing his lawn, golfing and watching NASCAR and Football. He bowled on several leagues, enjoyed eating breakfast at Bob Evans on Belmont Ave., but mostly enjoyed spending time with family and his many friends.

He leaves his wife, the former Margaret A. "Peggy" Stere, whom he married September 3, 1960; three sons, Richard (Sharron) Roth of Hubbard; Gary Roth of Youngstown and Kenneth (Jennifer) Roth of Hubbard; two daughters, Rev. Ruth Roth of Vienna and Carol (Michael) Schotten of Hubbard; a brother, George E. "Buddy" Roth of Hubbard; a sister, Patricia A. Splitstone of New Waterford, OH and three grandchildren, Kelly Roth, Dale John "DJ" Roth and Aimee Schotten all of Hubbard.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held Monday 1:00 PM at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home, Hubbard.

Family and friends may call on Sunday from 5:00 to 8:00 PM and also on Monday from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at the funeral home.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Churchill United Methodist Church, 189 Churchill-Hubbard Rd., Youngstown, OH 44505 or to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Youngstown, OH 44512.

The family would like to thank Dr. Daniel Brown, the home health aides, the Neurological Institute at University Hospital in Cleveland and Hospice of the Valley for the amazing care that was provided during Dale's illness.
