GIRARD Clara Marie Fercana, 83, passed away Thursday evening October 17, 2024 at Windsor Place. She was born July 8, 1941 in Youngstown, a daughter of James A. and Mary C. Sablyak Protopapa and was a lifelong area resident.

Mrs. Fercana, a 1959 graduate of East High School, was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church. Clara was the Secretary to the President at Hynes Steel for 50 years, retiring in 2006.

Her husband, David Fercana, whom she married February 10, 1962, passed away February 18, 2004.

She leaves a brother, James M. Protopapa and his wife Sandra of Hubbard; a sister-in-law, Dorothy of Youngstown. She also leaves 5 nieces and nephews, 15 great nieces and nephews and 5 great-great nieces and nephews.

Clara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David and a brother, Albert J. Protopapa.

Family and friends may call on Thursday October 24, 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Kelley-Cummins Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 10:30 AM at the funeral home with The Very Rev. Michael Balash officiating.

Interment will be at Hubbard Union Cemetery.
