LOWELLVILLE Mr. Clair A. Barr, 69, of Lowellville, died Wednesday, May 15, 2002 at his home. He was born April 28, 1933 in Hollidaysburg, PA a son of John E. and Florence Helsel Barr and was a lifelong area resident.
Mr. Barr, also known as "Lefty", worked for Valley Mould and Iron, Hubbard for 17 years. He was a member of the Corner House Christian Church, Hubbard and helped build the church in the 1960's. In the late 1950's and early 1960's at Christmas time he took Santa to visit children and deliver baskets of food and gifts to the needy.
He leaves his wife, the former Maxine Erb, whom he married July 15, 1958; six sons, Daniel of North Carolina, Kenneth (Julie) of Vienna, OH, Thomas of Hubbard, Randy of Howland, Fred (Vikki) of Kinsman and Ronald (Barb) of Lowellville; a daughter, Cindy (Brian) Bott of Boardman; three brothers, John of West Middlesex, PA, Harold of New Bedford, PA and Ted of Las Vegas, NV; two sisters, Jean McCloskey and Julia McEntyre both of Altoona, PA; nine grandchildren. A grandson, K.J. Barr, a brother, James, four sisters, Esther, Verna, Mary, and Ethel are deceased.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, 2:00 PM at the Kelley-Robb Funeral Home, Hubbard.
